They are talking of just one platform. For flexibility it really would need reinstatement of the double line from Exmouth Junction to the outskirts of Digby & Sowton.

The Exmouth branch was singled w.e.f. 5th February 1973 prior to this the additional station might have been practical. The proposed site is about 1,500 yards from Polsloe Bridge and about 1,700 yards from Digby and Sowton.

Just a quick response to todays question about IET services on the Newquay branch. With the start of the summer timetable on 15 May, the through Newquay services restarted, two a day, seven days a week until the Winter timetable starts on 29th September. The service origination/termination points vary and its best to have a look at the current GWR timetable to see those.
