The new footbridge at Liskeard - using the temporary scaffolding as a reference the sides of this new bridge would appear to be slightly higher than the original. Perhaps the original looked more 'fitting' in this location but it was in a bad state - well done Network Rail.
I always aim to bring you something unusual on nights - and tonight is no exception! A lazer fitted Network Rail land rover has been in action on the Newquay branch on nights and is seen at St Blazey at just after mid night doing some survey work.
Cheers for now Craig Many thanks to you Craig, sleep well!
Further to the above Craig was asked where the surveying had been done and whether a token had been necessary for the Land Rover?
Craig replied - The work was completed by 1am, so I was able to close the box. The Rail/road machine had covered from Trencreek at Newquay to Pontsmill last week, and this was the final part of the branch from St Blazey Bridge barriers into Par. As the whole line was under an Engineers Possesion, no token was required.
Mike spotted this very informative sign alongside the main line at a contractors entrance gate along the downside main line at Totnes station. It's even got the speed limits for the four lines at this point. Very interesting - well done Network Rail. Thanks for spotting it Mike

Roger on a train this morning noticed a new footbridge at Liskeard - says it has 'solid sides' - don't know as yet what the view might be over the top for photographers.
Roger writes :- 825 Intrepid having shunted milk empties waits to follow the 0842 Plymouth - Penzance in the platform at St Erth 30 October 1971.
Intrepid entered service on 24 August 1960, was withdrawn 23rd August 72 Cut up at Swindon 27 Oct 72
Today Roger Winnen has joined the broadband gang, Below are two different pictures he took at the same location on 9th March 2013 at Plymouth. As an experiment the first one has had the resolution reduced, the second one as taken by the camera. These are the first pictures Roger has ever sent from his home address to be placed on the web site. These are for test purposes.

Hi Keith 66143 hauled 6C39 out of Cornwall today with scrap & fuel tanks. Also in the consist was stored 60044 from the line at St Blazey. Only one now remains.
The train is seen at Par in dreadful weather. I was there for 60044s journey to St Blazey last year too.
Cheers Craig Many thanks Craig
