The new footbridge at Liskeard - using the temporary scaffolding as a reference the sides of this new bridge would appear to be slightly higher than the original. Perhaps the original looked more 'fitting' in this location but it was in a bad state - well done Network Rail.
Hi Keith I always aim to bring you something unusual on nights - and tonight is no exception! A lazer fitted Network Rail land rover has been in action on the Newquay branch on nights and is seen at St Blazey at just after mid night doing some survey work. Cheers for now Craig Many thanks to you Craig, sleep well! Further to the above Craig was asked where the surveying had been done and whether a token had been necessary for the Land Rover?
Craig replied - The work was completed by 1am, so I was able to close the box. The Rail/road machine had covered from Trencreek at Newquay to Pontsmill last week, and this was the final part of the branch from St Blazey Bridge barriers into Par. As the whole line was under an Engineers Possesion, no token was required. Mike spotted this very informative sign alongside the main line at a contractors entrance gate along the downside main line at Totnes station. It's even got the speed limits for the four lines at this point. Very interesting - well done Network Rail. Thanks for spotting it Mike Wednesday 27th March 2013 2Z08 two car NR class 150 test unit.
