A break from time on the beach - many thanks Ian. The St Ives Branch Roger Salter As it was the first sunny morning for a long time ,I ventured to the St.Ives Branch, finding along the Lelant Golf Course the foot crossing has been chained & padlocked, to get a shot from the other side it is a long r/about detour back over the bridge. Not sure that I ever heard about this? Tug of War Exeter Steve Widdowson Many thanks Steve for this unusual entry A Devon Variety over the Years Roger Winnen Peaks stabled at Exeter Paul Barlow Many thanks Paul Eastleigh News Kevin Jenkin Kevin on his daily jaunt took the following. Here are some snaps of the track replacement work at Eastleigh on Saturday. Southampton was basically closed to trains over the weekend which was pretty unusual. The Eastleigh damaged section has not been fully replaced (presumably another weekend closure to come), but Winchester to Southampton trains can now stop at Eastleigh platform 2 once again. Now that that facility is available, us commuters have another round of guards strikes to look forward to in March!!! Many thanks Kevin, one wonders why there are any commuters left!!
Exeter Central Paul Barlow Many thanks Paul St Austell Dave Anthony A moment in time as Dave Anthony snaps work in progress on the 'other' footbridge at St Austell. This footbridge was moved from its former location at St Blazey station to its current location to replace a level crossing w.e.f. 25th September 1925. Here we see the. foot bridge being repainted - ex St Blazey. This picture the 23rd February 2020. Copyright Dave Anthony Many thanks David. Swindon Ken Mumford Many thanks Ken
Golden Days at Exeter Phil Smith Many thanks Phil. Penzance 1984 Clive Smith 45147 has arrived at platform 4 at Penzance station on the 13th October 1984 with the 07.50 Bristol TM - Penzance formed of load 6. The return working back to Bristol TM at 13.45 would be formed of additional parcel vans from the sidings behind the peak, increasing the load to 13 for a tidy thrash up the Cornwall main line and over the Devon banks. Regards Clive Smith Many thanks to you Clive.
