Another Castle Class Named
Guy Vincent

This morning another class 43 power car was reported in service as being newly named.  43029 is now 'Caldicot Castle' so a further addition to the list and another castle chosen on the Welsh side of the Severn!
Regards, Guy.
Caldicot Castle is about a mile as the crow flies from Caldicot Station.  Many thanks Guy.

Okehampton
Queries from a cyclist

I have been to Okehampton many times on cycling the Granite Way over  many years and when the café was open some nice refreshments taken. This last Saturday I noticed what appeared to be hinge pins on the canopy pillars. They were on all the pillars so would appear to be an intentional addition.
Does anyone know what their use was if at all any use?
Also are there any plans for running heritage T&RS up to Meldon or the quarry itself?
 Regards - a cyclist.

With many thanks to our 'Cycling Friend' - can anybody answer the questions posed. Is there any future for a resumption of heritage services from Okehampton to Meldon Quarry Halt?  Perhaps travellers on our CRS outing this coming Saturday can find out?
You may spray that again
Craig Munday

Craig back from his travels to Eastleigh reports on the activities of the weedkiller train.

Some pictures from the Golden Weeks of high sun and long evenings once again.

GBRf's 66752 and 790 made an appearance at St Blazey over the weekend of 14th/15th May with the weedsprayer service. This impressive train replaces the MPV of previous years, and looks the business. A far cry from the ramshackle formations of years ago with chaps spraying out the side of vintage carriages converted. Some detail of the vehicles included including the swanky control module with all around vision.

Some trains at Perranwell (weeds beware) and 802109 at Pentraze looking great among the lineside flowers out in abundance.
