NetworkRail have been preparing to relay the down line in Highertown Tunnel preparation work started on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th of May, long welded rail was delivered on Thursday 13th of May, the track is due to be relayed over this weekend 16th & 17th of May, Tamping is planned for Friday 29th & Saturday 30th of May, Sunday the 31st of May follow up work will be done and finally on Friday 10th & Saturday 11th of July follow up Tamping will take place.
