Can anybody date it? From an old post card - the Derek Brooks Collection
Many thanks to the two gentlemen who have replied as below.
The photograph would seem to date from about 1911-14. The station was finished in 1900, but the cathedral spires were not finished until 1910.

In the background can be seen the central spire of the Cathedral, which was added in 1903, together with (I think) one of the two western spires which followed in 1910. The rolling stock looks as though it belongs in the nineteenth century rather than the twentieth, so I’d hazard a guess that the photo dates from the period just before the first world war.
