The annual visit of the weedkiller doesn't conjure as much magic when class 20s used to visit with the Fisons / Chipmans train. The Network Rail Multi pupose vehicles (MPVs) are a practical rail vehicle, with inter changeable "pods" which can work more cheaply than a loco hauled train, and I'm surprised more aren't used on the railway network.
Here is one of the units at Par resting between night duties in Liner Siding with the Newquay train sat beside in platform 3.
