One of the best moments in recording the railways of Cornwall is receiving the gift of a collection of pictures. I have been VERY fortunate to been given some picture by John Lloyd of Hayle Wharves where he worked for many years. I have had a long chat with John, and he has given full permission for these images to be shared with the Cornwall Railway Society. They are an absolute treasure trove!
The images of the Esso depot are unique, as is the image containing the road oil tanker shunter - complete with draw hook to the left of one picture. It is the only image I understand in existence. I'd love to be proved wrong of course.
I hope you & the web sites visitors will appreciate John's generosity as I have, and will enjoy them as much as I have.
