The train was photographed at Coombe in both directions. A dog walker pauses to watch Driver Lee "Smash" Macdonald power east ward with the empty stock 5P70 to form the 2P70 11.25 to Plymouth.
In the evening the opposite side of the tracks was reached, with the farmer's kind permission, to obtain this sunlight shot of 2C51 heading Westbound crossing Coombe viaduct. The shadows already reaching towards the structure, it's sobering to reflect that the longest days are already behind us for 2015!
During my duties in the day, I couldn't resist some Saturday morning shunting at St Blazey yard as JIASs & CDAs were taken into the repair shops. A delight for the model railway fan to recreate maybe? 66078 leisurely trundled around the yard shining up some of the quietly rusting tracks in the sunshine, whilst HSTs & Voyagers passed on the branch behind us. A scene to treasure.
Many thanks Craig
