I took advantage of the national ‘Heritage Weekend’ to visit the preserved signal box at Romsey on Saturday. That may be something of a ‘foreign excursion’ perhaps for the CRS <g>, but also on show there is a working display of Cowley Bridge Junction, which should be familiar to many of you. It is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area, see www.romseysignalbox.org.uk
A word of warning though – do try to avoid the day of the annual Romsey Show, otherwise like me you will spend much of your time in the long traffic jams on all the approach roads to the town!
