Your members may be interested to learn of a unique railway poster show we are organising and which takes place two weeks on Saturday. The venue is the Art-Deco ballroom at the Winter Gardens Pavilion in Weston Super Mare on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
At the moment we have 140 original posters to display, covering the years 1897-2014, so this will completely fill the ballroom with a blaze of colour. Cornwall is especially well represented being a major focus for railway advertising. Two different versions of 'Speed to the West' are included. I have commissioned two new Weston posters especially for the event, and such a myriad of posters displayed together in this way is unlikely ever to be repeated. It is now the largest show of its type since the 1951 Festival of Britain and features posters for all the 'Big Four' companies and all the BR regions. We hope to see you there!
