An article in the latest Railway Magazine states that most of DB Schenker 08 shunter fleet has now been axed from the beginning of September, engines being put into store for eventual sale or scrapping. The shunter operation will now be taken over by Class 60 or 66s allocated to the shunter pool. However First Great Western still have an allocation of Class 08s used at Laira and Penzance in the West Country for depot movements
