I do enjoy the pictures that are put up by other members, especially the one from the seventies and eighties, what was to me a golden era as a youngster. I took several hundred pictures between 82 and 86 (ish) when I got my first proper camera and although many have gone astray, I do still have few from that era that may be of some interest. It is also intereseting to note, that, having being away from the railscene for some thirty years, the difference in style of picture that I have taken in the last few years, having re-visited the railways with a young son who is now showing an interest.
I have attached a picture of 50043, taken in April 83, (this has appeared on RMweb in black and white, but here it is in it's full technicolor glory), as well as a pic of 08792, coming back from King's Ashphalt, (as an aside, my Gran use to live in Welcome St, next to the City Basin signal box, and the 08's use to make the whole house shake). Nick Gaskell.
Thank you very much Nick. Has anybody else got any pictures or memories of City Basin Junction and that unusual and very short branch.
