Hello Keith. Last Tuesday, June 2nd, the Looe branch was closed for most of the day after a woman managed to drive her car headlong down the steep slope and on to the railway line just a couple of hundred metres from Looe station. The location could be reached only by rail and the wrecked car was eventually retrived using a road-rail vehicle propelling a flat trailer down the branch. The attached photo was taken by my daughter from the other side of the river - hence the slightly fuzzy image.

The road from which the lady descended is up behind the furthest bungalow. This not the first time an accident has happened here blocking the railway line. 2nd June 2015 Copyright Heather Buttivant
