Guy writes :-   67023 and 67027 top and tail on a Colas-operated test train passing through Bradford-on-Avon on the evening of 10th. This train now runs approximately every 4-5 weeks.  Starting at Tyseley it covers the Worcester-Oxford and Swindon-Weymouth routes plus the Bath-Westbury line including Hawkeridge loop.  Coaches are 977983 (electrification measurement coach, presumably for brake force, not needed at the moment!), 72631 (plain line pattern recognition vehicle), 977997 (radio survey coach) and 6264 (generator coach).  One is left to wonder whether in fact the services of the electrification coach will ever be utilised in the Maiden Newton area?

​GWR green HST set with celebrity power cars 43185 and 43002 passing Berkley Marsh north of Frome at high speed on 1C87 1606 Paddington-Penzance.  This set SHOULD be working a special 1Z66 0836 Paddington-Bishops Lydeard charity special this coming Saturday, 13th. Outwards via Swindon, Melksham and Castle Cary, return via Bridgwater, Bath Spa and Chippenham. See RTT for detailed times etc. 

2) Not far behind the HST but travelling at a fraction of the speed was 59001 returning empty Mendip Rail wagons to Whatley Quarry as 7C76 1440 Acton-Whatley.

This has been an annual event for many years with passengers travelling down from London Victoria to Truro aboard this pristine train then staying in various hotels and travelling around Cornwall prior to returning to the Capitol, leaving Truro about Midday on Sunday. The train on Saturday then offered a Pullman Service to wine and dine from Penzance, Truro to Bath and return on the Saturday.

​Peter writes :- Unlikely as it may seem, it would appear that Great Western have plans to extend the Night Riviera to Gunnislake, of all places. A certain amount of platform extension would be necessary, plus a run round facility at Bere Alston. 
The company's plans were revealed on their Journey Planner, when Peter Murnaghan was looking into travel options for a trip from Liskeard to Gunnislake.  He and Mrs M would normally take the car (13 miles away by road), but he felt that the train might be a rather nice option for a change, although it would involve a longer journey, travelling in and out of Devon, changing trains in Plymouth.
As you will see from the image below, Great Western offered the tempting offer of travelling on the Night Riviera sleeper train from Liskeard to Gunnislake.  Sadly, the offer was not able to be taken up, as Peter was planning a morning journey, rather than an overnight stay.
Seriously, while this would seem to be a programming error on the website, one does wonder why GWR have enabled such a misleading message to go out.  How many innocent passengers might have been misled?
