The Yeovil Railway Centre

A very warm welcome was given to me when I visited the Yeovil Railway Centre last Sunday by many volunteers of the railway most of which I never knew. However John Cornelius a regular contributor to this website was acting as second man on guard duties, giving me knowledge of the workings and freedom of the site which was most appreciated. Helston Flora Day
8th May

Traditionally Helston Fora Day is on May 8th, however it never takes place on a Sunday.  In the days of the Helston branch trains were strengthened to cope with the additional traffic flow, Below, courtesy  of the Late Jon Wood we bring you a picture for Saturday 7th May 1955 which would have been Flora Day that year.
