Roskear Jct Level Crossing!
Craig Munday

A great caption competition (without annoying the locals)! A group of lads out for the evening in Camborne - this shouldn't get clamped!
Is there a Camborne / Redruth rugby derby on tomorrow?
Kind regards.  Craig Munday                  Many thanks Craig.

Tonight's the night to be at
Hallenbeagle
Craig Munday
Every so often, a seed is sown in your mind that a shot may be possible with briefest of glimpses. I passed Hallenbeagle on the A30 the other evening to notice the former mine working bathed in artificial light from the Balfour Beatty worksite.
I thought, a full moon and there may be an opportunity there. On my way back from Roskear I popped in as the moon was bright and positioned perfectly over the chimney with the faintest of cloud drifting by. The team on site started up the generators for the site lighting and the following pictures were taken from the surrounding fields.
The down Hind passed by on the down main briefly lit up passing the mine working and it took my breath away. Too quick for a still, but maybe a video.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Best wishes,  Craig

Camborne

5010 Restormel Castle roars through Camborne with an up express around 1950. The train is a mixture of GW chocolate and cream and BR rhubarb and custard. Note the red headlamps, GW style. 5010 was an early 'Castle' casualty: she was scrapped in 1959. This was back in the time when more than one through train did not stop at Camborne (even on Wednesdays). Copyright Roy Hart
Many thanks Roy.  This powerful picture emphasises  the steep grade up into the station at Camborne, note the level sidings to the left.
