Despite grim wintry downpours and high winds, there have been some "oasis" patches, completely altering the landscape when the strong sunlight came through.
The 16th saw a Chiltern liveried class 68 68011 come down to Laira to collect TPE Mk3s for the forthcoming Trans-Pennine carriages. The crew were from DRS and Trans Pennine drivers who will be taking over these stock moves in the future. They are seen at Laira, and the train returning East at Hemerdon.
The 18th saw similar glimpses of sunlight as 70812 headed east over Lynher viaduct with the cement empties, and 66177 stood in St Blazey with the afternoon freight. A HST working 1A82 is also pictured at Lynher.

Further to the above picture Graham Mann kindly responds :- Just responding to today’s piece on the Axminster gang pic, I believe Geoff Matthews may have ended up as a Section Manager in Salisbury, but Matt Tyne worked for me at Exeter as a Works Delivery Manager from 2008, he left the Railway circa 2010 I’m now volunteering on the Plym Valley Railway keeping my hand in so to speak !
