Hi Keith It's not often I get a day free to see the Log train in Devon. The train was booked to run, 56113 was at Newton Abbot, and there was a promise of sun too. I joined Mr Duff at Newton Abbot and saw the Drivers arrive. The loco was started, prepped and shut down again. The fuel lorry hadn't been ordered to fuel the loco!
So a trip to the FGW depot at Exeter was hastily arranged which was photographed at Shaldon & Dawlish. The train eventually departed around 6pm, far too long for me to hang around, plus the light was all wrong by then anyway.
The loco passed the containers still in situ at the washout site, and this portion of the seawall is still closed to walkers at the moment.
