As the 19th of April 1975 was a Saturday this could be the set that forms the Newton Abbot to Scotland Sleeper/ Motorail service, which used to start back at Penzance on Saturdays. I do remember that in the mid-late eighties this went through Cornwall on a Saturday afternoon about 5 or 6 o'clock

As you know I travelled often on the Newton Abbot-Stirling Motorail service & attach my 1975 brochure.

I could only join the train at Newton Abbot ,oh how I wish it was Penzance. No Motorail operated to Stirling in April as the timetable says ,I always went in May or before the last days in September.London-Penzance was all year & many services went from St.Austell

171203c This was the bridge that carried the Carbean Branch over the road which climbs up pass The Sawles Arms at Carthew to Stenalees. After closure of the branch pipes were laid for ECLPs use. However a number of years ago this bridge was completely removed to upgrade the road. Copyright Roger Winnen
