David takes the Avocet Trail                      2nd August 2014

2/8/2014

Hi Keith,
Some shots taken on the Exmouth Branch today when150927 made a rare appearance. From one shot you can see that raincloud which was about to drench me. Bridge No 15 at Exton appears to be having remedial work. Regards Dave Tozer
Many thanks David

There appears to be some work going on at bridge number 15 on the Exmouth branch. 2nd August 2014
For 2.3 miles along the eastern bank of the Exe Estuary between Exton and Exmouth the trail accompanies the Exmouth branch line. Here the mudflats, sandbanks and marshes are of international importance for their wildlife, especially the tens of thousands of resident and migratory waterbirds. Look out for avocets, curlews and lapwings, as well as seals and otters, and buzzards wheeling overhead. Also plenty of trains though not much variety!
