Last week Dairy Crest announced that it will close it’s factory at Chard Junction next year. Up and till the early 1980’s milk was regularly moved by rail. The working mostly passed Exmouth Junction around 1445 and returned at 1755. The train would often produce anything in the way of locomotives that Exeter had hanging around. Incidentally the sidings still exist.
