A visit to Coombe viaduct and the private surrounding fields courtesy of the farmer in high Summer is an annual treat. The Saturday evening loco hauled is lit superbly here in June / July so I was waiting for a perfect sunny evening. June 14th was such an evening so I was treated to 4 trains in less than 40 mins. Indeed there are 4 down services in the hour of 20.00, so a busy section indeed. The Voyager on the down Glasgow - Penzance and a class 150/2 on a Plymouth bound local preceded the main event, 57605 on 2C51 17.50 Exeter St Davids to Penzance which passed bang on time. Cheers Craig Many thanks to you Craig On Wednesday 2nd July, 2014 Imery's Shunter at Blackpool Dries P403D DENISE will be transported by road to The Bodmin & Wenford Railway. This shunter after spending a number of years at Blackpool Dries Burngullow has been donated by Imery's to the railway at Bodmin where an official ceremony in conjunction with the China Clay History Society will take place.
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO PUBLIC ACCESS INTO BLACKPOOL DRIES Tickets covering the main line and travel on the Bodmin and Wenford line are now available from Cornish railway stations. The fare from Penzance this morning was £12 - in addition Roger was also able to use his railcard.
A tolerable Saturday in the Bodmin and Par areas. First, is 43163 in the rail fly.com promotional livery, on 1A83 09.54 Penzance - Paddington. Second to be photographed was 57605 Totnes Castle working 2E75 11.25 Par - Exeter. Third, the 11.30 BWR steam service arrived, hauled behind 4247. Moving to Par, a XC HST arrived at about 14.40 while working 1V48, the 07.45 York - Penzance. Mid afternoon, a FGW left Par while working 1C80, 11.35 Paddington - Newquay. The final view of the day was another XC HST, this time working 1V54, 06.32 Dundee - Newquay. Regards, Martin Many thanks for a varied collection Martin Hello Keith, Some more photographs of the 19.45 Bishops Lydeard - Minehead special last Wednesday evening.
