I missed an anniversary on Wednesday 15 July.
Its 55 years since the last locomotive left Newton Abbot Works after an overhaul, and before the Works closed for good.
The loco was 4566 of Penzance Shed. It had been based at Penzance (or one of its sub-sheds) from nationalisation in 1948 through to September 1961 when it moved to Laira.

Evening Keith, It's probably too late now -I have been having trouble logging on today but as a follow up to Mike's mention of 4566 I wondered if you would like to add these pictures.
I had thought I had also taken more recent pictures of visits nearer home but cannot trace them.
