Hi Keith Imerys are once again loading at Parkandillack on the branch. I understand the plant has had some belt equipment renewed in the dryer which allows loading here once again. The trains have been loading at Treviscoe for some time, so this makes a pleasant change. The ghastly incinerator construction is well under way,but is not rail connected. Stevie Burton shunts the CDAs with fresh loco for 2014, 66080 which will be replaced one 66176 comes off exam. Taken 15th Sept 2014.

Comment - Although the area is undeniably industrial it does seem a great shame that the green field, frequently populated by horses, that lay to the south west alongside the current end of the line has been ripped up and lost forever beneath such an ugly plant. Quite why this couldn't have been located on a brownfield (or whitefield) site elsewhere in the china clay district is a mystery!

It has been suggested that the missing section to St Dennis Junction should be re-instated and a passenger service operated over the line - a reason to re-open a station at Burngullow one thinks!
Parkandillack - and here it is - the incinerator - taken on 15th September 2014 Copyright Craig Munday. At first sight it looked as if the HGV trailer bore the inscription 'STOPTRAINS'. Shame about the lack of a rail connection - it would surely make sense to export what is left of the materials which will pass through the incinerator by rail.
