Having had so much rain on Friday and a further spell of wet weather forecast for Sunday, I decided to venture out on Saturday to Devon.
Looking at Realtime Trains late Friday night, a stock move was shown leaving Laira Depot behind the 06.50 Penzance-Paddington service running through to Kilmarnock with layover times at Totnes and Dawlish Warren. In my wisdom I could photograph the train at Totnes, Dawlish and Exeter if it went to plan. On route I had updated information from Stan the Taximan of Camborne, on arrival at Totnes the train was still at Laira so I carried on Changing at Newton Abbot for Dawlish. Contacting another contributor to this website David Tozer found that the train was then passing Totnes after leaving Laira Ninety one minutes late.
