Another Cotswold Stock Move

The evening shadows cast over 47813 "John Peel" waiting to leave Laira with a Power Car move to Brush at Loughbrough on 27th September 2007, quite Possibly one of my last stock moves to and from Laira in what was an extremely short but turbulent time with Cotswold Rail  / Advenza Freight -  Driver Alan Peters
Thanks Alan
Trenance Viaduct
Richard Curtis

Whilst out on my permitted exercise this evening I happened to be walking past Trenance viaduct when the 19.22 ex Newquay heading for Par went by. It was interesting to hear how quiet the unit was going over the viaduct and then when on the Tolcarne junction side it got much louder with the click-a-Dee clack over the track joints in track that probably goes back to steam days. Once out of ear shot all that could then be heard was the roar of the lion at the zoo. Regards, Richard Curtis

Many thanks Richard - enjoy your exercise.
Crewkerne
Bill Elston

In my wanderings around Crewkerne, I stopped at a crossing point some 400 yards east of the station in time to see an Exeter to Salisbury working ( 1Z26 ) led by  159012.   At the station, there is a very noticeable dip in the track, accentuated when using a telephoto lens.  The train seems to sag in the middle!

Stay safe,  Bill

Many thanks Bill.  A probably almost empty train being crossed by a probably almost empty service bus!! Caronavirus to blame.
