A call to the east of the patch to deliver some essential equipment for a signal repair allowed me a visit to the Ivybridge area. Only cut back a few years back, nature has gradually taken back the lineside and surrounds. The recent rain has given the foliage a real growth spurt too! The once delightful vista looking back to Blatchford viaduct is all but gobbled up with trees once again as the Midland Pullman HST makes its way back to Crewe following the Carlisle railtour the day before.
On the 6th I was down west and caught Castle sets at sampson bridge near Angarrack, and checked in to see the new platform ends at Lelant, and the relocated footpath crossing, moved about 15 yards towards St Erth. One of the surviving blue liveried class 150, 150238 adding some colour variety in the midday sun.
On the 7th, 66139 majestically sweeps across St Germans viaduct with the empty JIA's bound for St Blazey. The kaleidoscope effect causing the light levels to change before my eyes as the clouds ran across the sun.
All the best, Craig.
