Railtour to Looe
Peter Murnaghan

The mention of the forthcoming railtour planned for the Looe branch reminds me of the last time (I think) that a railtour travelled down the branch.  On 10th February 2013, Pathfinder railtours ran the Hullaba Looe tour to Looe and Moorswater, using two 37s, 608 and 609.  My two pictures (which you might wish to add to the branch gallery), show the leading loco having a spot of trouble re-starting the heavy train over the crossover at the country end of Liskeard station.
The second shot shows the long train approaching Terras Crossing.  The very short platform at Looe could only accommodate the lead loco and the first carriage, so it must have been a lengthy process for all the passengers to disembark.
Best wishes, Peter
Many thanks Peter - your Liskeard shot is certainly dramatic
