Bodmin Rd. 1969.
Andrew Jones
Bodmin Road in this photograph is little changed since GWR days. Once a busy junction, with considerable freight, it is now the closest station for North Cornwall users.
On the left hand side of this photograph, Wenford hoods are marshalled with a Presflo wagon from Wadebridge, having been loaded by a specially installed vacuum system, installed after closure of the North Cornwall Line and a few general 4 wheel goods.
The Water tower is still in place. (one of two, the line side installation on the up platform had been dismantled). Bodmin Rd in 1969 was still not connected to mains water or electricity!
There is a Riley Elf in the car park.
Best wishes Andrew
Many thanks indeed Andrew a picture that deserves closer inspection.
