Apologies for the delay in sending my two photos from Purton (Collins Lane) Crossing - the class 20 heading for Didcot via Swindon AND a little while later - a graffitti-ed IET heading for Cheltenham.
As I approached this crossing [thinking that I had about 10 mintues before the what should have been TWO class 20 locos but only one came - 20901 with - 5Q81 from Derby [Network Rail] to Didcot Fuelling Point] the barriers were coming down and I managd to stop the car, grab my camera, step out of the car and this is my one and only shot [1]]!! This working was 124 minutes late passing me and 125 minutes late when Colin saw it in platform 1.
However, whilst talking to a lady this IET came along. [2]!!
Then Colin Pidgoen sent me his photos of the class 20 in platform 1 [3] PLUS the same class 20 on a Weed-killing trains in the Cockleberry Sidings just east of the Swindon station which he took many years ago [4]!
Just as I was starting to send the four photos off yesterday, Colin sent me a fifth - of 20901 with 5Q81 Didcot Fuelling Point to Bristol (Kingsland Road) passing through platform 4 [2 minutes EARLY] with what Colin said was a 'some kind of rail monitoring wagon' in tow - a rare (??) photo of a class 20 heading bonnet first!
Thank you, Colin, your help is appreciated. Kind regards, Ken
