Railtour Memories Clive Smith Clive sends us three railtour pictures from my collection, even 2013 seems a long time ago now. (1) DRS 37608 erupts with clag at Liskeard on the ' Hullaba-Looe' railtour on the 10th February 2013 before embarking on a complex shunting operation with the stock from the down line to the up line before crossing on to the Looe branch and platform. 37609 and 37218 were on the other end. Copyright Clive Smith (2) Deltic D9009 'Alycidon' arrives at platform 8 at Plymouth on the 29th July 2013 with the 1Z55 16.11 Penzance - Tame Bridge Parkway 'Mazey Day Cornishman'. I stood at the other end of the platform for the departure expecting some va-va-vroom theatrics and was a spectator to the most lacklustre crawl from the Deltic.. Copyright Clive Smith Many thanks indeed Clive - nice to have you back. Vintage Laira Paul Barlow Thanks Paul. Bishops Lydeard and Norton Fitzwarren Up in Somerset Andrew Triggs 1 & 2 Immaculate 47077 'North Star' in the bay at Bishops Lydeard, WSR, still awaiting the call for transportation to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for an extended loan period. 3 & 4 Later in the day at Norton Fitzwarren, 57601 leads the 'Northern Belle' (1Z42 09.29 Birmingham International-Paignton) with 57314 trailing, running 161 late at 14.54, due to braking problems earlier in the day in the Cheltenham and Gloucester areas Many thanks Andrew - on holiday again! Round Britain Cycle race day Bodmin General Chris Bellett I was a Bodmin General today acting as S&T standby cover for the intensive (and free) train service run between Bodmin General and Bodmin Parkway. Please find attached a few photographs taken to record the (railway) day. Kind Regards, Chris Bellett Retired S&T Engineer CRS Member Many thanks Chris for your most interesting collection of views on this important day for Bodmin Town itself.
