This was a question from Trevor Tremethick. This box was situated where the Truro Crown Court building stands today and was operational until the mid 1920s before being replaced with a ground frame. However the box remained in situ for many years after
We are very grateful to Roy Hart from Rangoon who gave us this additional information

Dear Roger,
I would say 1975-6. It had certainly gone by 1980. The box opened 1904 (when the viaducts were completed) and closed 07/07/1925.
When it closed, the operation of the trailing points in the down main was  transferred to a 3 lever ground frame next to the building, the windows were permanently boarded and the structure was used by the engineers as a mess and store room.
Hope this helps,

All the very best,

Roy

Many Thanks Roy

New to us but obviously not new to the railway scene Clive Parker sends us a link to his collection of photographs taken in Devon. Viewed through a 'new' pair of eyes be brings us some ver interesting views of the Devon scene - particularly to my mind of Exmouth.
So welcome to Clive you will find a most interesting collection by clicking on the link below.
