A photograph by my Father Terry Baker of one of my first recollections of a train.
An unidentified 47 coasted to a halt at Wootton Bassett having completely lost power, the driver called for assistance and D1036 Western Emperor arrived wrong line from Swindon and reversed onto the train.
Apart from the houses on the right I doubt anything in the picture remains at this location today.

This date coincides with the Whitsun school half-term holiday and so accounts for the family group watching proceedings at the lineside!
