Totnes News
Clive Smith
Many thanks Clive for the two pictures below keeping us up to date with scene at Totnes.  Access to the former signalbox, now a café, does seem to be a problem - the access from the footbridge seemed ideal - almost 'passing trade' one might say!!

(1) The current station footbridge also provides access to the Signal Box Cafe on the up platform. Any removal of this footbridge would need to followed up with new replacement access to the cafe. Latest news from the station is that the new footbridge will finally open later this week, however the lifts will not as they are still undergoing tests. Copyright Clive Smith.

(2) Thundering through the station at some speed 66155 is just about caught on the 11.00 Burngullow - Exeter Riverside. I hesitate to use the word sand as the wagons contained a vast amount of stones. 28th January 2019. Copyright Clive Smith.
Weekend Work at
South Brent
Alan Peters

Many thanks Alan

With fading light, Colas Rail Freight 70815 is seen at South Brent on Sunday 27th January 2018 waiting with 10 autohoppers to drop ballast on the newly re-laid Down Main where the old station used to be, this was the junction for Kingsbridge with the idyllic sounding Gara Bridge being the only passing loop. The line was swept away under Beeching in 1963, although it is still possible to see where the line diverged to the right of the locomotive. Copyright Alan Peters
