Rail disruption

Commuters in Cornwall have been warned they will face long delays and disruption while signalling upgrade work is carried out. The work to replace the old signalling equipment will eventually help to improve train service reliability and reduce delays incurred by signalling issues, Network Rail has said.
While the work is being carried out, the Cornish Main Line will be temporarily closed in phases between Tuesday, October 31 and Sunday, November 12. While buses will be replacing trains on affected routes, Great Western Railway has warned: "Due to a national shortage of bus drivers, we may have to reduce our planned timetable. If we do need to make changes, we’ll confirm these in advance here.

• Tuesday, October 31 to Sunday, November 5 – Line closed between  St Austell and St Erth (including the Falmouth branch)
• Monday, November 6 to Friday, November 10 – Line closed betweenLiskeard and St Erth (including branch lines to Newquay and Falmouth Docks)
• November 11 and 12 weekend – Line closed between Plymouth and St Erth (including branch lines to Looe, Newquay and Falmouth Docks)
