The pictures of 55012 approaching the Tamar bridge on the June front page are great. You may like to know this bubble car is still giving good service on the Weardale railway. By the date of your photo It had already tried to become a plane in 1977 flying through the buffers at Stourbridge and landing over the edge of the bridge parapet. Here she is now at Stanhope, County Durham.

40145 comes off the Royal Albert Bridge on the 28th August 2006 with Pathfinders Tours' 'Whistling Pixie' railtour 16.50 Penzance - Ealing Broadway. The current encroaching vegetation that Roger mentioned in his notes on his 1990 picture is apparent here thirteen years ago. Sadly an impossible photo now.
