This is the only place where I have used them: to mark a change of gauge on a short track section which has 12 and 20 lb. rails welded together.

With the demise of printed railway timetables, potential passengers without internet access need to rely on local initiatives such as this one I came across at St Germans station. Produced by the St Germans Public Transport Users Group, it lists all stopping trains and times to the main destinations.
In contrast, I found at an information point in a nearby village an official comprehensive Bus Times booklet which gives full details of all Cornish buses, aided by a county map.
Back at St Germans, 43194 slows with the 1418 Plymouth to Penzance train beside the attractive camping carriages.
