Bodmin & Wenford
Craig Munday
On the 15th Dec the empty JIAs arrived later than normal at St Blazey from Exeter Riverside and is seen at Middleway whilst contractors put the final stones in place on the substantial St Austell bay resilient regeneration project (StARR). 66119 the locomotive.
It was a relief therefore when 18th Dec saw almost unbroken sunshine across Mid and East Cornwall. The Santa specials were in full flow on the Bodmin & Wenford railway with pannier tank and 47306 doing the orders top and tailed on a busy service between General and Parkway. The train is seen with the class 47 leading at Charlies Gate. A wander up to St Pinnock viaduct saw bright low light beautifully filter through the trees, providing a nice effect across the forest floor. The low sun bouncing nicely off the dark green GWR livery against a leafless backdrop.
Here's wishing everyone a safe and merry christmas
