Decided to visit the Lostwithiel Toy Fair on Sunday, forgetting that the town is now one huge carpark. I eventually found a space under the impressive recently rebuilt railway bridge near the park.
Please find attached photograph of a lonely semaphore signal adjacent the renovated Brunel Quay guarding the station and level crossing.
I made a note to try and capture more photographs of the railway in its surrounding environment before all is swept away in the name of progress.
Very best wishes Andrew and Diane

Hopefully that is enough of an excuse to send you a picture of D1070 from my collection, also taken in the summer of 1968, leaving Totnes on 1V73 the 08.50 Liverpool-Plymouth. Unfortunately the photographer is unknown.
Best wishes

This is a Crewe built western 1031 to 1073 but no idea which one.
Suspect the picture is either 1968 or 1969 as 1a56 was the 1030 Penzance to Paddington service in 1968 and 1045 in 1969.
Not enough to go on to id the western sadly , and many still in that livery then.
Did the photographer take anything else in Cornwall that day I wonder ?

I like the older stuff as you know best.
HST etc all turn me off .Just imagine if people had recorded the 60s and 70s like they do now !
Here is a small picture of St Austell signal box with the signalman looking out aug 1976 , im surprised the box still stands .
Cheers, Roger Geach
