The Network Rail Test train ran after the RHTT and before the VIP reopening special on the 17th November 2021.
A Message from Tony Hill with a further note :- Excellent Dave ...a very rare pic, and only witnessed and recorded by you . In the future such trains will run in the dark /at night.
The crew reported the track quality ( between Coleford and Oketon) the best they have ever found ...not surprising really seeing most of it is new !
This was the 0655 Exeter Riverside yd to Derby via Okehampton ( 0745-0808) Network Rail Track Testing Train with ex LNER HST Power cars 43251 and 43272.

Chard Junction - Brian Pibworth
Attached herewith pics of the NMT arriving and departing Chard Junction this morning.
Amazingly the train was only a few minutes late, as the LSWR line had been in chaos earlier in the morning due to a track circuit fault between Crewkerne and Yeovil Junction leading to cancellation and delays of up to 90 min.

Public service to Okehampton
Tomorrow - 20th November 2021 will see the first day of the public service from Exeter to newly reopened Okehampton. We understand that interest is high and trains will be full and we look forward to your pictures. HOWEVER we may have to be very selective in our editing.
