The Network Rail Test train ran after the RHTT and before the VIP reopening special on the 17th November 2021.
A Message from Tony Hill with a further note :- Excellent Dave ...a very rare pic, and only witnessed and recorded by you . In the future such trains will run in the dark /at night.
The crew reported the track quality ( between Coleford and Oketon) the best they have ever found ...not surprising really seeing most of it is new !
This was the 0655 Exeter Riverside yd to Derby via Okehampton ( 0745-0808) Network Rail Track Testing Train with ex LNER HST Power cars 43251 and 43272.
Cheers

The NMT is looking less like a "flying banana" as can be seen by photos taken today (18th November).
A grubby ex Virgin livered 43290 leads ex East Midlands 43274 back to Reading. Andrew Hickson
Amazingly the train was only a few minutes late, as the LSWR line had been in chaos earlier in the morning due to a track circuit fault between Crewkerne and Yeovil Junction leading to cancellation and delays of up to 90 min.
Keep safe. With kind regards, Brian
Pendomer heading East. Power cars were LNER liveried 43290 with Network Rail branding, and 43274, East Midlands Railway livery
