I visited Exeter Central today. The main reason was that with SWR operating a special service between Salisbury and Exeter all trains terminated at Central Station rather than St David's. This provided the rare opportunity to photograph Class 159 units visiting the seldom used bay platform beside Northernhay Park.
The strike timetable saw no trains serve Feniton, Whimple, Cranbrook and
Pinhoe. Oddly trains West of Salisbury were timed to sit at Yeovil Junction for up to 19 minutes and the two train sets used always crossed at Yeovil Junction. The stations not served by rail had an hourly rail replacement bus service.
Whilst awaiting the SWR service 150001 appeared working the 1343 Barnstaple to Exmouth service. This and 150002 appear to have regular diagrams on the Exmouth - Paignton or Barnstaple circuit.
