Plymouth

On a rainy day in 1982 but looking very smart with red buffers, 40084 and 40057 are seen running round the 'Westward Whistler' railtour 06.00 York - Plymouth along the through line between platform 4 and 5. I'd photographed the tour at Lipson on the other side of Mutley Tunnel so by the time I got to North Road station the 40s were just on their way to Laira.

My grandson and I decided to spend about 30 minutes down at Swindon station and here are my photos - reduced in size for being able to send them all at once.
[1] 165131 waits for a driver in platform 1 before it can depart for Cheltenham.
[2] 165131 departing from platform 1 - next stop is Kemble.
[3] This emu has just arrived in platform 3 and terminated here before heading for the stabling sidings east of the station.
[4] This emu awaits the right of way.
[5] This emu leaves platform 3 with a CALLING ON signal to the left of the red colour signal.
Kind regards,
Ken
