A few new scans of the last day of operation of Dawlish signal box. It was officially closed on Friday 14 November, but as it was only switched in on summer Saturdays. 27 September was the last day of summer Saturday operation. So last day in was in use. A friend on mine worked for the S & T department and knew the signalman so he arranged our visit on the Saturday morning.
The box survived for many years until it eventual demolition in 2013 - Paul Barlow.

The B&WR resident Class 08 locomotive No.08444 has earned a well deserved rest and refurbishment and has been temporarily replaced by a ‘spot hired’ Class 08 No.08359.
