Poster for last train 17th December 1978. - from the Ian Cavill archives.
A few weeks ago looking through his old books that Ian made the chance discovery of a poster advertising the last ever public trains to travel down to Wadebridge.  Many thanks for sending this in Ian.
Roger Winnen travelled on the first the two specials run by the Bodmin Lions. later in the day he was able to capture  few views of this significant event in the life of the line,

This is the last ever passenger train to leave Wadebridge for the National Network - One wonder how many people witnessed it from the windows of the properties alongside, 17th December 1978. Copyright Roger Winnen.
Many thanks to Ian and Roger for this record.  Onecan only hope that one days trains will return to Wadebridge though never of course to the original station.

An appeal - banking at Exeter
Ken Mumford
Hello Keith,
i wonder if anyone inthe CRS can give me details [and possibly photos] for what happened to banking trains between these two stations after steam was not used for banking. I'm sure I've seen a main line diesel [A Paek?} banking a train up that incline.
I'd like to use any details in my DEVON BELLE PowerPoint presentation - naturally I'd gratefully acknowledge [in the presentation] any help.
Many thanks of appreciation,
Kind regards, keep safe, keep warm both of you,
Joyeux Noel,
Ken
Can anybody help please.
