Tonights Test Train
The annual testing circuit for Devon and Cornwall has crept up on me, perhaps a little short notice but here are timings for a couple of runs due to take place: Apologies - we missed the Tuesday working.
Wednesday 17th April Penzance to Exeter Riverside New Yard
Network Rail class 950 99600/99601
Tuesday 30th April Bristol High Level Siding to Laira T&RSMD via Westbury and Whatley Quarry
Wednesday 01st May Laira T&RSMD to Truro Yard via Moorswater, Looe and Newquay
Thursday 02nd May Truro Yard to Derby RTC via Falmouth Docks

Definitely not Liskeard or Looe. Looks to me like the original station at Newquay.
P.S. The original Newquay station was a one-platform job. Behind the photographer the track ended at a turntable (see old maps). Yes, this became platform 1 by the gasholders when the station was rebuilt in 1903. The station shown in the photo was built by the Cornwall Mineral Railway. As for the wall on the right, I'm not sure. There is a photo of old Newquay station in one of John Vaughan's books, as far as I recall.
