Yesterday at Par the Parkandillick to St.Blazey clay tankers reversed into Chapel sidings at Par presumably that it had no more tankers to collect at St. Blazey for the first part of its journey to Exeter Riverside. 66149 in DB livery was in charge on this occasion.  Copyright Leslie Curnow

B & W Diesel Gala
Clive Smith

Ahead of this weekend's Bodmin & Wenford Railway's Diesel Gala, here is 37142 at what is now Bodmin Parkway with the 2B24 17.45 Plymouth - Penzance hauling all of two coaches on Saturday 30th May 1981.  37142 is now preserved on the B&WR . 2B24 was famously worked by 1041 on the Monday and 1013 the next day on the last week of Westerns in February 1977.  Loads of 4 and 3 were not unknown and on Plymouth Argyle match days formations of 14 were common. I had the pleasure of taking this Laira stalwart all the way to Penzance. Acceleration from stations was not surprisingly impressive !

               Regards, Clive Smith.
Many thanks Clive

The meeting which starts at 6.30 PM is held at the Memorial Hall, Redruth Methodist Church. For details of the location please click here.

This will be a grand start to our 2019/20 season of indoor events.

Having some computer problems so here are two latest pictures.
A late call in to work at Lostwithiel provided this last light shot of a Castle set passing on the down.
Then yesterday a lovely drive down to Golant for a high tide shot of the afternoon clay from Treviscoe. A prompt run round at Lostwithiel was a bonus as the sun was strong.
Kind regards, Craig

Many thanks Craig - hope your computer is okay now.
