Over the years there has been much speculation and myth about a new branch line to serve Looe giving a direct route off the main line avoiding the complicated junction and manoeuvres at Liskeard and Coombe.
However the CRS has been given copyright to an exclusive work by Alec Kendall, all 21 pages of it.

The photo of D1048 you posted made me dig out some photos that my father took around 1991, Western Lady makes a cameo appearance in one of them!
