Riding on the Great Western Railways, Devon and Exeter Explorer by Andrew Triggs 10th October, 201512/10/2015
Hi Keith A couple of pictures summing up our 24 hour industry sees the RHTT at very different locations on Sun 10th Oct 2015. Firstly hard at work near Falmouth Docks station where I was carrying out rail head inspections. All well this early in the season. And later that evening before the RHTT set out again on its arduous over-night circuit at St Blazey. The lights lit alongside sister loco 66108 on shed. An atmospheric scene. Kind regards Craig Super views which most of us can't get - many thanks to you Craig Keith The rail treatment train went down to Falmouth today and I send you some pictures from Penryn with 66 138 leading and 66 061 trailing on the way there What looks like wrong line working is the normal approach to the down platform. Best Regards Roger Many thanks Hello keith
I wonder if you or anyone at the CRS can help a friend of mine please He is looking for a picture of .....North Cornwall line just out of Wadebridge .... bridge number 141 which crossed the A309 at Sladesbridge - or demolition of same please? A picture of this bridge which crossed the A309 road. This is where the garden center is now and the road was widened here, I can't recall when the demolition occurred poss late 70s maybe before. Many Thanks Roger Geach If you can help please contact KJ in the first instance. Hi Keith, Two slightly surreal pictures from Yesterday’s rail tour. The first is the HST coming off the mainline at Totnes and joining the South Devon railway and the second is departing Heathfield on the return to Buckfastleigh. Pictures that may well never be repeated. Regards Jon. Great pictures, many thanks. Morning Keith, Good show last evening. (Derek Huntress) Herewith, with Charles Fennamore's permission, some pics of 1Z66 the 07.17 PAD - Buckfastleigh unadvertised express which ran yesterday. It then went onto Heathfield, back to Buckfast, onto Heathfield again. It then returned to London (via Bristol) as 1Z70 16.42 Heathfield - Paddington. Regards Mike (Roach) Many thanks to Charles for the use of his pictures and to you for sending them on Many thanks to Charles for these, our first pictures of the HST visit to the South Devon, yesterday..
Hi Keith I took a wander towards Brownqueen tunnel to catch the returning RHTT.The trees are turning quite Autumnal here, and the train stands out prior to the usual condition it gets into weeks into the programme. A HST & class 150/2 also passed by. This followed attempts to save the structure by the Bristol Civic Society and Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways. Network Rail said the structure was unsafe and had no commercial value. |
