Track relaying is scheduled for this coming weekend between Falmouth Docks and Falmouth Town. One wonders if the run round facility will be removed together with the connection into Falmouth Docks. Only time will tell Passengers will be required to walk between the two stations. See also Inside stories Feature Page for more information
Hi Keith, I had another visit to Hayle viaduct today with Scott Pillinger of Network Rail to update our viewers and to get some shots of the progress and its looking good.
I have attached five photos. (Remainder in 'Inside Stories') Regards Mick Many thanks Mick - it's two months now since our last visit to site. Also many thanks to Scott Pillinger of Network Rail. 50 years ago saw the demolition of the Walkham Viaduct on the Marsh Mill, Tavistock, Launceston line. The demolition created a large gap in the future cycle route which has only recently been filled by the creation of the 'Gem Bridge'. There are more pictures in our 'Features Page, and the whole route is covered in our Devon Galleries Section.
Hi Keith, Didn't venture down to the far west today - the light was dreadful, but then it is January. Shame because the forecast was promising. I did capture the Colas locos 70805 / 803 on St Blazey on Sat 10th along with 66176, and then heading west past Grampound on Sunday 11th with 6C27. Cheers for now, Craig Many thanks Craig |
